Harriett's Story Continued:
I was excited beyond belief, but I was also just a little scared. I had concerns about how I would be accepted by the traditional-age students and my professors, as well as about how I would actually manage to study after 29 years away from the classroom. Once I began attending classes, my fears evaporated, and I have to say, the return to school was the most joyful and fulfilling experience of my life. To my surprise and delight, my academic career was an unqualified success, and I continued on to the master’s degree. With a lot of perseverance, hard work, and luck, I am in a position now to help other adults who have the same dream I had.
