Applications for USC Academic Youth Programs

Carolina Master Scholars Adventure Series
Duke TIP Scholar Weekend

HOW TO APPLY

Carolina Master Scholars Adventure Series applications are now available on this website! Acceptance is considered selective, and enrollment in each course is limited – so apply early!

Simply complete the application and submit it along with your essay, deposit, academic record, and course selection. A professional educator must submit a written recommendation separately on your behalf, using the form provided or a written letter. Returning students need not complete the essay or recommendation, but must provide an updated academic record along with the application.

Thank you for your interest: However all classes for summer 2008 are full. Please check back in January for the 2009 series of programs

Duke TIP Scholar Weekend applications, available September 2, 2008, are reserved for persons with a Duke TIP identification number or persons who attended a summer 2008 CMS Adventures program. If you meet this criteria, call 803-777-9444 to request an application, and have your ID number readily available. Please follow the applicable deadlines, fee payment, refund and cancellation policy which may be found on the Scholar Weekend application. The remaining information on this page is for CMS Adventure Series applicants only.

DEADLINES
Applications may be submitted any time after January 1, 2007. An early bird discount will be offered to those who submit applications, along with the $200 nonrefundable deposit no later than April 13, 2007. Please note that courses are likely to reach maximum enrollment prior to the early bird deadline. Applications must be postmarked at least 21 days in advance of the start date for course(s) to which you apply; however, as enrollment is limited for each course, we recommend you submit your application early to increase your likelihood for acceptance.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
A full refund of registration fees, minus the $200 deposit fee, will be available if requested in writing at least 60 days in advance of the relevant course start date. No refunds will be made after that date; if you fail to cancel by that date and do not attend, you are still responsible for payment. A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks. The liability of USC is limited to the registration fee, and the University will not be responsible for any losses incurred by registrants or their families, including but not limited to airline cancellation charges or hotel deposits. Refunds take three weeks to process. USC reserves the right to cancel and refund all registration fees for any course due to circumstances beyond our control, including insufficient registration.
