Meet the Instructor
Dr. J. Larry Durstine is a Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Exercise Science. He is Co-Director of the department’s Preventive Exercise Program which provides clinical services for faculty, staff, and members of the community. Dr. Durstine’s interests include lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, exercise management for chronic diseases and disabilities, physical activity and health, and cardiac rehabilitation. In addition to his roles in the Department of Exercise Science, Dr. Durstine has also served as the President of the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Durstine is recognized for his outstanding work in the classroom as well. He has received the Excellence in Teaching Award, the Governor’s Distinguished Professor Award, and the Arnold School of Public Health’s Faculty Service Award. |
