Dr. Sally Boyd
Assistant Vice Provost for Extended University
Dr. Sally Boyd, Assistant Vice Provost for Extended University, has responsibility for the administration of the Evening, Weekend, and Fort Jackson Programs; Adult Student Services; and Palmetto Programs, as well as assisting with academic affairs for regional campuses.
She earned a B.A. in English from Furman University and a doctorate in American literature from the University of South Carolina. She holds the rank of professor and teaches Honors College classes in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. She has published on Tennessee Williams. Prior to her current role she was a faculty member at USC and director of its Fort Jackson Program.
Dr. Boyd has served her campus on numerous committees including Campus Safety, Women’s Studies, Affirmative Action, Assessment, Women’s Issues, Veterans’ Affairs, and Faculty Club Board of Governors. She is chair of the Honors College Policy Committee and a member of the Women’s and Gender Studies Partnership Council. Active in several professional associations, she is a past president of South Carolina Association for Higher Continuing Education and South Carolina Women in Higher Education.
Her community activities have included service as vice-president of the Trustus Theatre board and president of the Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands board.
