Current Position

Nancy Washington is Director of Publications for the University Libraries at USC. Her primary duties include editing the following: Reflections, a semi-annual newsletter about the Libraries for University faculty and staff; University Libraries Annual Report; Thomas Cooper Society Newsletter, a semi-annual newsletter for members of this library support group; Caroliniana Columns, a semi-annual newsletter for members of the University South Caroliniana Society; Links, a weekly electronic newsletter for faculty and staff of the University Libraries. Washington also maintains a news bureau to publicize library activities to campus and off-campus publications and assists the Libraries’ Office of Advancement with various publications.

Courses Taught

Formerly taught courses in acquisitions and technical services for the College of Library and Information Science. Not teaching at the present time.

Other Interests

My primary interests tend toward the arts, especially music, fine arts, theatre, and dance. I try to take advantage of the many fine opportunities that USC and Columbia afford to attend performances and exhibits. I am a painter (acrylics) and a photographer and enjoy singing in my church choir, St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields. I love to spend time reading and hanging out with my two kitties, Babette and Tabitha. I travel as often as I can especially to Europe, but I try to get to New York and Washington every couple of years or so.
