Student Loan Exit Counseling
Federal government regulations require all Stafford and Direct Loan borrowers to complete exit loan counseling prior to graduation. Fall 2011 degree candidates must complete Exit Loan Counseling on the internet at http://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_SA/
Accept or Decline Your Loans - Required
If you have been awarded a federal Direct Loan, subsidized or unsubsidized, or a federal Perkins loan and you can view them on VIP, you must decide if you wish to either accept or decline the loans that are offered.
If you want the loans you were awarded, you must click on the button to fully ACCEPT or fully DECLINE your loans. This button is found at the bottom of the page “Show Me My Financial Aid Awards.” If you do not accept your loans they will not be available for you to use to pay your fees.
Direct Loan Master Promissory Note – Required for all Direct Loan applicants. You must have your FAFSA PIN number available to use on the website.
Direct Loan Entrance Counseling – Required if you have never had a Stafford or Direct Loan at USC. You must have your FAFSA PIN number available to use on the website
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- The 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available online at www.fafsa.gov.
- The 2012-2013 FAFSA will be available at www.fafsa.gov on January 1, 2012.
